An early start paid off with a chance stumbling across a newborn Roe deer fawn on the edge of one of the meadows. This fawn had only just been born so a quick picture on my phone before a hasty about-turn and off across the field without disturbing or touching the baby so mum could return. This was an observation than was a privilege to be able to see.
In another field was the local dominate, Roebuck. Probably the fawns father. At the end of this post is another film of him shot in slow motion after seeing me he was happy to carry on feeding.
