This brilliant, sulphur-yellow fungus, found in the woods in early summer. The vividness is caused by the fungus Laetiporus sulphureus, also known as “chicken of the woods”. The name is said to come from its flavour. This example was spotted today in 100 acre wood near Wickham Hampshire on a Yew Tree stump.
