Stayed home today as the weather is very hot. Hot indoors hotter outdoors the patio is baking. It is so hot even the bees are not in the garden just a lone Red Admiral Butterfly and some flies. I am sure it will be cool at the sea but I also know that it will be packed and social distancing will be hard if not impossible, so stay at home day.

Really great close ups of those flies. Looks like the butterfly has had its wing painted with brown paint – very different. Have not seen this butterfly before.

My 1st try at flies mainly due to lack of bees in the heat rather surprised by results.

Really intense eyes! I heard about the heat wave in the UK … we’ve had a very hot Summer here as well and today we have still another severe storm and potential flooding. Nothing has been normal with our weather this year. I’ll bet you are glad you put extra flowers into your garden into the early days of the pandemic so you still had photos to take.
