This year the local Kestrel’s nested in their same tree 4 fledged last year this year there were 5. 4 of this years have now gone with the last one ready to leave within the next few days.

Aw the kestrel looks so cute, ready to join the big wide world. It’s so nice that the foxgloves are going out now, up north too!

The Foxgloves seem to have suddenly bust into flower this year.

I love watching the kestrels when I’m out walking but I don’t know where they nest. It is just as exciting to see these.

The site was a lucky find last year in an old Oak tree, in a hole where a branch has broken off.

I was down at the River this morning and all of a sudden, the waterfowl all took flight, the seagulls circled above and I saw a dark streak in the sky. I looked around and saw nothing, then was ready to go and I spotted a huge Cooper’s Hawk and knew the reason for everyone’s hasty and nervous departure.

We get the same at the Haven when a Marsh harrier cross the gull nest sites.

You, like me, probably cringe on behalf of the birds.
