I don’t think our Starlings have that greenish blue colouring? Great shots! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply ↓
Up close of the Starling to see his plumage – is it an unusually short tail? Maybe it’s molting? LikeLiked by 1 person Reply ↓
I think his tail is a bit hidden in the last picture due to the angle and the other feathers are fluffed up Linda. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply ↓
OK, I wondered – thanks for clarifying Andy. I had canaries and when they molted, one of the first things to go was the tail, leaving them looking bob-tailed and unable to balance very well, nor hop from perch to perch. LikeLiked by 1 person
Nice to see their colours up close. I’ve been fascinated to see them gathering on the wires and chimneys LikeLiked by 1 person Reply ↓
Yes, they are a great sight to watch they all talk to each other when they gather like that. LikeLike Reply ↓
Fancy bird. I wonder if their speckled fluffy feathers are used to look bigger to predators. Great shots of this bird! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply ↓
I love their white spots and the metallic sheen of their feathers.
