Hi Rebecca, as a fellow Vermonter I will agree that they are fairly common. In spring and early summer listen for the winnowing as they do their aerial mating dances.
Thanks to you, learning more about specific kinds of birds. We’re learning about birds in our science homeschooling curriculum…maybe can identify up to 10. lol
GREAT photos, Andy! They make me miss seeing snipes. Apparently they’re not uncommon in Vermont, but I have yet to see one.
